Liverpool will be Europe's Capital of Culture in 2008.
Accordingly, my energies are currently focused on recording the changing city.
Many buildings are being refurbished, and some will be demolished. The classical view from the River Mersey is changing, with the addition of large buildings close by in Old Hall Street, together with new development around Princes Dock just north of the Pierhead.
Anyone interested in the architectural history could do no better than locate a copy of 'Seaport', a justly famous book by the late Quentin Hughes. Go for the 1993 reprint rather than the first edition as it contains important revisions & additions written by Hughes. Abebooks.com is a good place to start...
